The open call of the residency 2024, September 10-24, is out and we welcome new and returning applicants! The deadline is April 15th and the outcome will be released no later than May 1st. For all the information please check the link below:
The Art´n Fiber® residency grant/fellowship (short term) focuses on international exchange and cooperation.
The fully funded stay is addressed to professional textile/fiber artists and those with equally active artistic commitment.The current target group is European* textile/fiber artists living outside the borders of Sweden.The residency was established on the initiative of textile/fiber artist Katriina Flensburg and it is run in close cooperation with and support from the Region Uppsala and Uppsala Municipality/City. Location of the residency is the Quilt Academy of Sweden facility.
Recipients of the grants of 2022 and 2023 were the fiber artists Fabia Delise, Italy and Dorothy Wedderburn, the Netherlands. See previous recipients for a photo sample over the respective stay and the statements of the selection committee.
Complementary: Starting in 2024 and in addition to the above residency, the Quilt Academy of Sweden has reserved a number of weeks availlable for booking for individuals/couples/colleagues seeking a short-time getaway with an acces to facilities for creativity within the field of fiber art.
